"Internationalization" is the process of making a product or its underlying technology ready for applications in various languages, cultures and regions. In his paper "From Characters to Web Services .. to Internationalization is Everywhere," Felix Sasaki of the W3C shows that internationalization is relevant for a wide range of technologies (character encoding, bidirectional text, text formatting, character processing, datatype specific issues, etc.), and gives a brief overview of some of these technologies.See http;//www.acm.org/ubiquity/.
