John Stuckey, Ubiquitys ace correspondent in Egypt, grapples with one of the most important questions we can think of: Is Phil Yaffe right about English as a common language?

This discussion about a standard language is very interesting.
I found similar problems in learning czech and then looked around ...

And I found good old latin.

It was used worldwide as a standard language. Its vocabulary is updated and contains most actual words.
It uses very few characters (no diacritic symbols)
But we dont know how it was pronounced exactly ...

Latin is used today as a standard language in official documents of the catholic church and understood (within this community) worldwide.

There is no political interest/power behind this language.

It could be interesting to discuss this language in a similar way ...

Kind regards

I am not smart in writing. It might be possible that my content would not be upto the standard but still what I feel I have to say something about this. Gradually we are trying to unite the world in a single bond, all are adopting the same type of food habits, dress and even the mentality. Now what I believe we do not have much variation in the mentality also throughout the world. All are trying to follow a single path. SO THERE SHOULD BE ONE AND ONLY LANGUAGE THROUGHOUT THE WORLD. What I believe that maximum problems in every aspects will be eliminated autometically.
Thanks.
